What does the Color Converter support?
The Color Converter supports CPS, HEX, HEXA, RGB, RGBA, sRGB, HSL, HSLA, HWB, CMYK, OKLCH, OKLab, CIELAB, LCH, Display P3, Adobe RGB, ProPhoto RGB, Rec. 2020, and XYZ formats.
Why can the Palette Readiness Score be capped?
Critical blockers such as unreadable body text, unsafe primary actions, missing focus indicators, or indistinguishable status colors impose hard score caps so a palette cannot receive a misleading production verdict.
Is Color Pick free?
Yes. Core tools, palette templates, CPS references, challenges, local projects, and supported exports are available without creating an account. Optional donations do not unlock features.
Do I need an account?
No. Color Pick is designed for account-free use. Projects are stored locally in the current browser, so export backups before clearing site data or changing devices.
Are uploaded images sent to a server?
The Image Color Picker is designed to process selected images locally in the browser. Image contents are not required to be uploaded to Color Pick for color extraction.
What is CPS Spot Color?
The Color Pick Spot Color System is an independent first-party digital reference library with 1,386 colors. It is designed for digital organization, design systems, matching, and process-color planning.
Is CPS the same as Pantone?
No. CPS does not reproduce, map to, or claim equivalence with Pantone or another proprietary commercial color system.
Why can printed colors differ from the screen?
Displays emit light while print reflects light. Results vary with display settings, profiles, inks, printers, paper, coatings, calibration, and viewing conditions. CMYK values in Color Pick are planning approximations.
Does a 100/100 Readiness Score guarantee accessibility?
No. It means the palette satisfies Color Pick’s internal scoring rules. Accessibility also depends on content, typography, semantics, keyboard behavior, focus, motion, layouts, and assistive-technology testing.
What does Fix My Palette change?
It can adjust lightness, chroma, hue, color separation, and role assignments to improve the internal score. Lock important brand colors and review every recommended change before production use.
Where are my projects stored?
Project folders are stored in IndexedDB in the current browser. Smaller preferences and challenge progress may use localStorage. Color Pick is not a cloud backup service.
Can I move a project to another device?
Use project export and import for complete backups. Share links and QR codes can transfer compact palette and tool state, but they do not include uploaded image contents.
Which download formats are available?
Depending on the tool, Color Pick can export PNG, SVG, JSON, CSV, CSS, Tailwind configuration, design tokens, printable specifications, and project backups.
Can I use Color Pick for commercial work?
You can use your original palettes and generated exports in commercial projects, subject to the Terms of Service and any rights attached to files or data you import. Review production values before use.
Will Color Pick show ads?
Advertising may be enabled in the future. Ads will be separated from tool controls and will not change scores, recommendations, matches, or feature access.
How do I report a problem?
Use the Suggestions & Feedback widget or the Contact page. Include the page URL, device, browser, application version, and reproducible steps.
